BUCKWHEAT ZYDECO was the preeminent ambassador of Louisiana’s zydeco music. If you’ve gotten into zydeco music, or felt its influence, or watched the world celebrate this great aspect of Louisiana culture over the past 30+ years it’s likely been because of Buckwheat Zydeco and his Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band. No other zydeco artist has come close to selling as many records or exposing the music to more people around the world. Buckwheat Zydeco and his Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band has played many major music festivals around the world, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Summerfest, San Diego Street Scene, Bumbershoot, Montreaux Jazz Festival, Pori Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and countless others.


On September 24,2016 Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural, Jr. passed away when he lost his battle with cancer.


Stanley “BUCKWHEAT” Dural, Jr. was the fearless leader of the Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band. The BUCKWHEAT ZYDECO celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009, and capped it with the release of the Grammy Award-winning Alligator CD, Lay Your Burden Down. In February of 2010 the album won for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album. Buckwheat Zydeco had been nominated four previous times in three different categories. This was the band’s first Grammy win. The Legendary Ils Sont Partis band members have appeared with Buck on shows such as David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Conan Obrien, Carson Daily, CNN, The Today Show, MTV, NBC News, CBS Morning News and many others. The band has performed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, both President Clinton’s Inaugurals, and also with the Boston Pops to name a few special events.

Taking what he learned from his father over the past three decades,

Sir Reginald Master Dural is leading the Legendary Il SONT PARTIS BAND- and keeping the Buckwheat Zydeco legacy alive. Sir Reginald will assume the role of the lead vocalist, accordion player and keyboardist. Along side him is his father’s long time friend Bassist and Musical Director of 33 years, Lee Allen Zeno. The other Il Sont Partis band members who performed with Buckwheat Zydeco for a quarter century or more includes Drummer Kevin Menard, Guitarist Mike Melchione, Rub Board Patrick Landry and Trumpeter Curtis Watson. Also joining the band, Buck’s long time friend Louisiana legend and Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Guitarist Paul “Lil Buck” Senegal.

2009 Grammy Award Winning  Sir Reginald Dural  awarded in the category of best Zydeco  or Cajun Music Album "Lay Your Burden Down" with the great and late Buckwheat Zydeco. Born and raised in Lafayette, La. is where Sir Reginald started his musical journey. As a young man Sir Reg learned the accordion by listening, watching and taking notes from  his father Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural, Jr. He  has recorded on many records with his father as the Rub Board player and back ground vocals. For over 10 years Sir Reginald has opened the show on B3 Organ. Sir Reginald Dural leads the Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band accordion and lead vocals.

2009 Grammy Award Winning Trumpeter Curtis Watson Jr. awarded in the category of best Zydeco  or Cajun Music Album "Lay Your Burden Down" with the great and late Buckwheat Zydeco. 

Born and raised in East St Louis , Il is where Watson started his musical journey. Attended Texas Southern University  studied music and march in the famous Ocean of Soul Marching band .  After leaving Houston ,Tx  he moved to New Orleans  to start his professional career. Watson has recorded and share the stage with artist such as Counting Crows, Cee-Lo Green, Neyo, Neville Brothers, Soul Rebels BrassBand and for the last 24 years the late great Buckwheat Zydeco Watson now resides in Atlanta, Ga

2009 Grammy Award Winning Bassist Lee Allen Zeno was awarded in the category of best Zydeco  or Cajun Music Album "Lay Your Burden Down" with the great and late Buckwheat Zydeco. Born and raised in Lafayette, La is where Lee started his musical journey. Lee  Allen is endorsed by Lakland Bass of Chicago ,Il. L.A. has combined his talents with great artist such as Solomon Burke, Irma Thomas , Snooks Eglin, and Marcia Ball  just to name a few. Lee Allen Zeno has been the Musical Director for the late great Buckwheat Zydeco Band for over 35 years.


// Guitar/Vocal

Rock n Roll Hall  of Fame guitarist Paul "Lil Buck" Sinegal plays a 1957 Fender Strad.  Born and raised in Lafayette, La is where he started his musical journey. He was the leader of the famously known band Lil Buck  Sinegal and the Top Cats. The band had a big recording hit titled "Monkey In A Sack" Lil Buck has been the musical director  for  the great old school soul and blues  review festival  Ponderosa Stomp for over 12 years . Lil Buck has recorded and performed with such  artists as Allen Toussaint, Clifton Chenier, Irma Thomas, and Rockin' Dopsie.

Paul "Lil Buck" Sinegal has performed along side his good friend Stanley"Buckwheat" Dural, Jr. since childhood.

2009 Grammy Award Winning Drummer Kevin Menard awarded in the category of best Zydeco  or Cajun Music Album "Lay Your Burden Down" with the great and late Buckwheat Zydeco. Born and raised in Lafayette, La. is where Kevin started his musical journey. Kevin is endorsed by Sabian cymbals (regular banshee). Kevin got his start with Buckwheat Zydeco in 1989 and has always been the thriving force behind the late great Stanley Dural.
